Hello,

I've googled a lot about this, so I hope you can help me. I set up paperless-ngx on my homeserver with a docker compose file in portainer.

I can upload files and everything is fine, but no files show up in my media folder: "/data/dms/media". I have tinkered around with volumes and "PAPERLESS_MEDIA_ROOT:" but nothing helped. When I delete a file the logs says:

So I think I made a mistake in linking the volume, but I don't see it...

The folder "data" is my RAID partition and used by jellyfin, paperless-ngx, etc., the folder dms has permissions: "drwxr-xr-x 1 pierre docker", pierre is my docker user, in docker group.

OS: Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS (GNU/Linux 5.15.0-107-generic x86_64)
Docker version: 24.0.5, build ced0996
Docker Compose version: v2.20.3

Got the error, I was investigating in this volume problem and as I had installed docker via snap I had used an old ass docker version (24) with a volume / prune bug: moby/moby#46136

Removed the snap docker instance, installed it from apt with the newest docker version and installed it without portainer direct from the docker compse file.

It works like charm, added tika, etc. and love.

Paperless is using /usr/src/paperless/media as expected. When you make a change, are you re-created the container? Not just restarting?

I'm not sure either. Everything generally looks correct, it just seems Docker isn't mapping. Do you have multiple containers running maybe? What does docker ps output?

I have some containers running, none of them is mapped to the data folder

Also, there is jellyfin running on the system barebone, because of hardware transcoding.

I'm pretty much out of ideas. Assuming you use docker compose, I would double check the container is recreated with docker compose down then docker compose up

I took it down with docker-compose down and something is odd. Even after this and docker system prune, the old files are there:

I run docker inspect and everything seems fine:

I'm not sure at all. Best guess now would be just doing a global find for those file names and try to figure out where Docker put them

Good to hear. I'll have to remember that. I vaguely knew snaps store data in weird ways/places
